The NFL announced Thursday that it has reached commercial agreements with three sportsbook operators for the 2026 season — renewing its long-running partnerships with FanDuel and DraftKings, and adding Fanatics Sportsbook as a new official partner.
DraftKings and FanDuel have been the league's designated betting partners since 2021. Each signed a fresh multiyear deal. Fanatics — already an NFL partner on the collectibles and official-merchandise side — signed its own multiyear agreement to join them.
What the deal actually grants
The agreements give all three books the same core rights: use of official NFL data, league advertising inventory, and NFL intellectual property, plus collaboration with the league on bet types and responsible-gaming programs. Crucially, Fanatics' deal is non-exclusive — it joins the existing partners rather than displacing anyone.
Why it matters
Official-partner status is less about a logo on a broadcast and more about distribution and legitimacy. Access to official data and league marketing is the kind of tailwind that helps a newer book close the gap on entrenched leaders — and Fanatics, for all its retail reach, is still the youngest of the major U.S. sportsbooks.
The read here is straightforward: the NFL has decided the betting tent holds three, not two. For Fanatics, it is the strongest signal yet that the league sees it as a durable third option rather than a challenger on the margins.
The market angle
For bettors, more official competition is a good thing in the long run — it is the pressure that eventually shows up as better promos and, occasionally, better prices. It does not change a single number tonight. What it changes is the shape of the market a year out, and whether Fanatics can convert league legitimacy into the market depth its reviews still knock it for.
