ProphetX review
8.9/10By Priya Natarajan · not yet hands-on tested · facts verified September 16, 2026
Quick verdict
The purest sports exchange in the regulated field — full back-and-lay order books, fees charged only on winnings, and since June 2026 the same dual CFTC registration as Kalshi. Its 8.9 reflects what it gets right structurally; its youth shows in liquidity that thins fast beyond the headline markets.

Our experience
Written from the record: ProphetX's history — New Jersey's first licensed P2P exchange in 2022, a shutdown, a sweepstakes rebirth, and full CFTC approval in June 2026 — is short but unusually transparent, and reviewers' findings are consistent.
Odds & pricing
Structurally the best deal in sports betting when books are liquid: peer-set prices with no house margin, and a 2% commission charged only on net winnings — losses ride free, parlays currently commission-free, VIPs pay 1.5%. Reviewers explicitly contrast this with Kalshi's fee curve, to ProphetX's advantage for sports.
Betting markets
Sports only, with solid coverage of the U.S. majors and the exchange-native extras: visible liquidity under every price, partial fills that rest on the book, and custom-odds requests. No politics or event markets by design.
Live betting
Live trading on liquid games works well; the exchange model means exiting a position replaces cashing out, at prices the market — not a house — sets.
App & website
Highly rated (4.8 iOS) and built like a trading product: order placement, book depth and open-position management are all first-class. The learning curve is real for bettors who've only used sportsbooks.
Deposits & withdrawals
No-fee both ways, with online-banking withdrawals often instant. The friction is on-ramp selection: bank linking, crypto or wire — no cards, no PayPal — which reviewers flag as the main onboarding hurdle.
Promotions
Light, by design and by economics; the pricing is the promotion.
Rewards
A thin VIP tier (reduced commission) and little else.
Customer support
Email and live chat with a good early reputation; the regulated entity is weeks-to-months old, so the record is short.
Final verdict
An 8.9 for the platform sharp bettors have asked for since 2018: real order books, honest fees, federal oversight, and no adversarial house. The liquidity caveat is genuine — NFL and NBA trade well, the tails don't yet — and the whole category's state-law litigation applies. If liquidity compounds, this is the model the retail books should fear.
Use ProphetX if
Price-setters: bettors who want to post their own odds and be paid for providing liquidity rather than crossing a spread. Sharp bettors priced out of retail books — there's no house to limit you, and the operator has publicly committed to never trading against customers.
Look elsewhere if
Casual bettors who want SGPs, boosts and promos — none of that exists here — and niche-market bettors, for whom thin books mean slow or partial fills. Nevada residents (excluded).
