Novig review
8.1/10By Priya Natarajan · last tested August 28, 2026
Quick verdict
The no-vig exchange grew up: CFTC-designated in June 2026, genuinely commission-free matched pricing, and a slick app. But our own money got stuck in a policy trap — no withdrawals from a state where Novig doesn't operate — and thin books can quietly give back the edge the model promises.
Best for no-vig pricing
What works
- No-vig, peer-to-peer model can beat book prices
- Sweepstakes structure reaches non-regulated states
- Trade out of positions rather than holding to settle
What doesn't
- Liquidity is thin outside the biggest markets
- Newer operator with a limited track record
- Sweepstakes mechanics add redemption complexity

Our experience
The product is impressive and the pricing model is real. The policy that soured us: after using Novig on a trip to a state where it operates, we returned home — outside its footprint — and were refused a withdrawal of our own balance. Novig's position was that no transactions could occur from a non-operating state. Our reading, after checking, is that the restriction applies to placing wagers and orders, not to returning a customer's funds — a distinction the support desk would not engage with. The money was accessible only by re-entering an operating state. However defensible on compliance grounds, a design that strands customer balances by geography is a serious flaw you should know about before depositing.
Odds & pricing
When books are liquid, this is the best pricing available to a US bettor: peer-matched, no built-in vig, and reviewers describe at most a small take on net winnings — accounts differ between 'commission-free' and a 1–2% winners-only take, but every version beats a book's margin. In thin markets, the spread between resting orders becomes the real price, and it can be worse than a sportsbook's juice.
Betting markets
Sports-only, but broad within that: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college football and basketball, WNBA, UFC, MLS, tennis and golf, with mainlines, props, futures and live markets. No politics or event markets — for that you want Kalshi.
Live betting
Live trading works well on liquid games, with the exchange advantage that you can close a position mid-game instead of hedging at book prices.
App & website
One of the best-rated apps in the exchange category (4.7 on iOS) and our experience matches — clean order flow, visible books, custom-odds posting that's actually usable.
Deposits & withdrawals
Deposits via bank linking are quick. Withdrawals are normally instant via Trustly — but read our experience above: geography can freeze your balance entirely, and that risk belongs in your sizing. Two bank-linked methods only; no cards or PayPal.
Promotions
Minimal by design — the model's pitch is price, not promos. What onboarding offers exist are modest.
Rewards
None to speak of.
Customer support
Email and live chat exist and respond, but on the one issue that mattered to us — releasing our own funds — support enforced policy without flexibility or a workaround. The score reflects that.
Final verdict
An 8.1 for a platform whose pricing is legitimately the point — with the CFTC designation (June 2026) resolving the old regulatory asterisk. We'd trade here again on major markets. We'd also never keep more balance than we're prepared to have locked behind a state line.
Use Novig if
Price-first bettors on major markets, where matched peer-to-peer prices routinely beat book lines; bettors who want to trade out of positions rather than hold to settlement.
Look elsewhere if
Anyone who travels between states casually — see our withdrawal experience below — and anyone whose betting lives in niche markets, where liquidity gaps turn 'no vig' into wide effective spreads.
What we actually tested
Withdrawal refused while physically in a non-operating state, including for an unwagered balance; funds accessible only from an operating state
